Introducing Mental Health 101
What is mental health? Is imposter syndrome common? How does CBT work? These simple, yet hard-to-answer questions are asked by millions of people on a daily basis all over the world.
Although information regarding mental health is readily available on the internet, the quality of such information is in many cases highly questionable and often contradictory. Influencers, YouTubers and bloggers share their opinions and knowledge regarding disorders and interventions, in most of the cases without any relevant background. In this informational chaos it is hard to filter out credible information, right?
Here at Unmind, we take mental health seriously. Not just because it is our job, but because we believe that prevention and education are the most important steps for achieving mental health for all.
That is why Unmind is launching a new blog series, Mental Health 101. It will aim to explain different mental health terms from disorders and emotions through to intervention types and measurements in a digestible way. We’ll publish a new term on a weekly basis to help you understand and navigate in this world.
Our very first piece is going to be about how to talk about mental health and is written by our Head of Psychology, Dr Heather Bolton. Check out our Best Practices here!
