Introducing: Plus One

4 Nov 2020

We’ve just launched Plus One to let users give friends and family free access to Unmind. This post explores what Plus One is, why we launched it, and how to use it.

Let’s not sugarcoat it, 2020 has been tough. Politically, economically, environmentally and socially tough.

It’s exposed weaknesses in our institutions and the fragility of our economies. We’ve seen, in starker terms than ever before, the effects humans are having on the environment and the creatures we share it with. Our freedom has been compromised and the working world has been turned upside down.

This has made a significant impact on our mental health. As citizens of a world in crisis, we’re hearing and learning more about the topic each day. It’s front-of-mind for the media, and it’s become a business priority. If there’s a silver lining to be found over recent months, it’s that people are beginning to appreciate the importance of nurturing a healthy mind.

The relationships and connections we have with other people are integral to our own mental wellbeing journey. Indeed psychologists say that mental health isn't just determined by psychological and physical factors, but also our social environment. By nurturing strong and meaningful connections and relationships with those around us, we can build support networks that foster positive attitudes towards mental health.

With this in mind, we built Plus One.

What is Plus One?

Plus One lets Unmind users give a loved one free access to the platform. They’ll be able to benefit from all the tools, resources and support any of our existing users get.

Who can be a Plus One?

A Plus One can be a friend, family member, or friend of a friend – anyone you think might benefit from using Unmind. As Unmind content has a strong focus on helping people to thrive in work as well as life, we would recommend that Plus Ones are around working age.

How can you use Plus One?

If you’re already an Unmind user, you can add a Plus One to Unmind within your Account Settings. All you’ll need is your guest’s name and email address.
